For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the idea of the North Star. Polaris has guided sailors, wanderers and dreamers for centuries, and when I finally decided to activate Polaris in my own life, I did not quite expect the journey it would set in motion. For me, activation was never about a single dramatic moment; it was about consciously choosing a fixed point and allowing everything else to align around it. In this post, I want to share what that process looked like for me, the small rituals that kept me grounded, and why I believe anyone can do the same, regardless of where they are starting from.
I had reached a point where every direction felt equally plausible and equally empty. I was busy, certainly, but busy in a scattered way, like a compass needle twitching in all directions at once. Activating Polaris, for me, meant deliberately choosing one guiding principle, one long-term ambition, and treating it as my celestial anchor. The first step was surprisingly simple: I wrote down what mattered most and pinned it above my desk. That single sheet of paper became my star. Whenever a new opportunity or distraction appeared, I asked myself one question: does this move me towards my North Star, or away from it? The clarity that followed was almost embarrassing in its simplicity.
