Righto, legends, gather round because Give the Gift of Sight Month 2025 has arrived, and it is officially time to stop pretending you can read the road signs from the driver's seat without leaning forward like a meerkat on steroids. And if you are sitting there thinking, "She'll be right, mate, my eyes are fine," then congratulations, you are exactly the person this month was invented for. Pop on your reading glasses — the ones you swore you would never need but definitely bought from the servo — and let us have a proper yarn about it.

Let us be honest — how much of your life have you spent staring at the ceiling, contemplating your life choices at 2am? Too much, probably. Now imagine doing that with blurry vision. You would not even be able to judge the paint job properly, and judging ceilings is one of life's great free pleasures. Give the Gift of Sight Month 2025 is all about making sure everyone can enjoy the crucial stuff: sunsets, grandkids' footy games, and the fine craftsmanship of a well-installed suspended ceiling. A bloke once said beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but that falls apart completely if the beholder needs a fresh prescription and refuses to book an optometrist appointment. Donate a pair of specs this month and someone, somewhere, can finally behold things properly. What a ripper of a concept.
