How Much Is A Playstation 3 - Free Printable PDF 2025

There is a quiet melancholy in asking how much a PlayStation 3 costs in 2025. The black monolith that once dominated living rooms across Australia has faded into second-hand marketplaces, op-shop shelves and dusty garage sales. The honest answer is sobering: a PlayStation 3 in black today typically sells for anywhere between $40 and $180 in Australian dollars, depending on the model, condition and whether the original accessories survive alongside it. What was once a $999.95 luxury purchase in 2006 has become a budget relic, its value eroded by time, disc rot and the relentless march of digital distribution. For those chasing nostalgia on a lean budget, that decline is a grim kind of gift.

The Dark Reality of Second-Hand PS3 Prices in Australia

Scroll through Gumtree, Facebook Marketplace or eBay Australia and the pattern is unmistakable. The original fat PS3, with its glossy piano-black finish and backwards compatibility, commands the highest prices — often $120 to $200 if it includes a controller and cables. The slimmer models from 2009 onward sit lower, usually $50 to $100, while the Super Slim can sometimes be found for under $60 with a bit of patient haggling. Beware, though: consoles listed as untested are a gamble, and yellow light of death units still circulate among unsuspecting buyers. Always insist on seeing the console powered on before handing over your cash.
