Where to Find NBC Sports Network on Charter Spectrum

For years, NBC Sports Network occupied a comfortable spot in Charter Spectrum's expanded channel tiers, typically found in the 300-range block on most systems, though the exact number varied by region. Spectrum subscribers who subscribed to Select, Silver, or Gold packages could usually access the channel alongside regional sports networks. The channel delivered an impressive slate of programming: NHL regular-season games and playoff matchups, Premier League soccer coverage, NASCAR races, IndyCar Series events, college football and basketball, as well as beloved studio shows and in-depth analysis. Because channel numbers differ from one market to another, Spectrum customers were always encouraged to check their local channel guide or use the Spectrum TV app to locate the network quickly. The app also allowed subscribers to stream content on the go, a feature that became increasingly valuable as viewing habits shifted toward mobile devices and connected TVs.

The Shutdown and Where Sports Fans Can Watch Now

Transition of sports programming after NBC Sports Network left the Charter Spectrum lineup

At the end of 2021, NBCUniversal made the business decision to shut down NBC Sports Network, with the channel officially going dark on January 1, 2022. For Spectrum subscribers, this meant that the beloved sports channel quietly disappeared from the lineup without a direct replacement on the same channel number. However, the network's most valuable programming did not vanish entirely. NHL coverage migrated to TNT, TBS, and ESPN platforms, while Premier League soccer matches moved primarily to USA Network and the Peacock streaming service — both of which remain available to Spectrum customers. USA Network, in particular, absorbed much of the network's live event content and studio programming, making it the closest substitute in the Spectrum lineup. Additionally, Spectrum's partnership with Peacock gives many subscribers convenient access to exclusive Premier League matches, big-event coverage, and on-demand sports documentaries. For fans who miss the dedicated sports channel experience, regional sports networks available through Spectrum continue to provide local team coverage, while add-on packages offer extra league-specific channels for die-hard enthusiasts.
