Let me tell you, hunting down a PS5 used for sale nearby has been one of the most satisfying side quests I've done this year. When the PS5 first launched, I missed out on every restock going, and I refused to pay scalper prices. So I bided my time, saved my coin, and eventually decided the second-hand market was the way to go. Honestly, it turned out to be one of the smartest decisions I've made as a gamer, and I want to share what I learned along the way so you can grab yourself a bargain too.

Why I Chose to Hunt for a PS5 Used for Sale Nearby

The moment I started searching for a PS5 used for sale nearby instead of buying brand new, the savings became obvious straight away. Plenty of folks upgrade to the PS5 Pro or simply lose interest, which means barely-touched consoles end up listed at hundreds less than retail. I found one two suburbs over from a bloke who'd played it maybe a dozen times. It came with the original box, both cables, and even an extra DualSense controller. Buying locally also meant I could test the console before handing over any cash, which gave me real peace of mind compared to gambling on a random courier delivery.

Before you commit to any PS5 used for sale nearby, do yourself a favour and give it a proper once-over. Ask the seller to boot it up in front of you, pop in a disc if it's the disc edition, and check that the drive actually reads games. Have a squiz at the HDMI port, test both controller triggers, and listen for any weird fan noises that might suggest overheating. I also reckon it's worth asking why they're selling — most people are honest, and a vague answer is usually a red flag. Meeting at the seller's place might feel a bit awkward, but it beats standing in a car park wondering whether the thing even turns on.
