If you have been searching for a film that will genuinely move you, look no further than The Good Lie, the 2014 drama starring Reese Witherspoon that follows a group of Sudanese refugees rebuilding their lives in America. It is a heart-warming, tear-jerking story that deserves a spot on every watchlist — but finding where it is available can feel like a quest of its own. Fear not, because this guide walks you through every way to watch this powerful film, so you can be settled on the sofa with a cuppa in no time.

Stream The Good Lie On Popular Subscription Platforms

The easiest route is checking the major subscription services first. The Good Lie has appeared on Netflix in various regions over the years, and it frequently rotates back into the catalogue, so it is always worth a quick search. Amazon Prime Video also lists the title in many territories, sometimes included with a subscription and other times available separately. Because streaming rights shift regularly, a handy trick is to use a service aggregator such as JustWatch, which scans dozens of platforms at once and tells you exactly where the film is currently streaming in the United Kingdom.

Rent Or Buy The Film Digitally

Can't find it on a subscription service? No problem. Digital rental is a brilliant fallback and usually costs just a few pounds. Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Google Play Films and YouTube all offer The Good Lie to rent in high definition, typically giving you 48 hours to finish once you have pressed play. If you know this is a film you will revisit — and many people do — buying a permanent digital copy is a wise investment
